GCSE Results 2025

Posted: 21st August 2025

The hard work of this year’s GCSE students at Mark Hall Academy has paid off, as young people returned to school today to collect their results. The school has seen an uptake in students receiving both standard and good passes in key subjects.

64% of students received a standard pass in English this year, an increase of 9% from 2024’s results, with 46% of students received a Grade 5 and above. In addition to this, 60% received Grade 4 or above in Mathematics, which is an 8% increase from the year prior.

Among the highest achieving students in Year 11 are:

  • Kieron Dyer: Two Grade 9's, Three Grade 8's and Three Grade 6's
  • Hendry Hoang: Two Grade 8's, One Grade 7, Two Grade 6's and One grade 5
  • Megan Broad: One Grade 9, Two grade 8's, Three Grade 7's and One Grade 6
  • Wiktor Podlewski: Five Grade 9's, Three Grade 8's and One Grade 7
  • Eva Thanasi: Five Grade 7's, Two Grade 6's and One Grade 5
  • Thomas King: One Grade 8, Three Grade 7's, Three Grade 6's
  • Faryl Wright: One Grade 8, Five Grade 7's and One Grade 6

  • Ehsaan Sanni: One Grade 9, Three Grade 7's, Three Grade 6's and Two Grade 4's

Matt Carter, Headteacher, said: "I am incredibly proud of our pupils at Mark Hall Academy for their achievements in this year’s GCSE examinations. Today’s results are a testament to their dedication, resilience and hard work throughout their time with us. It is a joy to celebrate their success and to wish them the very best as they take their next exciting steps.

"We have seen a continued upward trend in outcomes, with a notable increase in the number of pupils securing strong passes in both English and Mathematics. It is also encouraging to see improved outcomes across a wide range of subjects, including History, Languages, Music, Drama, and Single Sciences, alongside consistently strong results in Religious Education.

"These successes reflect not only the commitment of our pupils, but also the tireless support and expertise of our staff, who go above and beyond every day to help our young people thrive. I want to thank them for the passion and professionalism they bring to our school community.

"We are ambitious for our pupils, and this year’s results reflect our collective drive for improvement. With exciting curriculum developments being introduced this year, I am confident that we will continue to see even greater gains in pupil outcomes and the overall quality of education at Mark Hall Academy.

Congratulations once again to all our pupils – we are proud of you."
